If you plan to demolish the old house you just bought and plan to erect a new one on this site – demolition permit is necessary in order to not be violating present New York City building regulations. If you are tearing down a house and rebuilding a new one or demolishing a commercial property the first thing that you will need in order to comply with NYC Building Code is a demolition permit.
