The property owner may be a stakeholder, but is not always the applicant; for example, an owner can be the applicant for a General Construction permit, while other work types may require a licensed professional.
Where You May See It: DOB NOW: Build job filings, the Plans/Work Application (PW1), permit applications, DOB letters, objection notices, and older BIS job records. DOB NOW job and filing records can be searched through the DOB NOW Public Portal, while older BIS jobs appear in BIS.
Why It Matters: The applicant may need to submit the filing, respond to DOB objections, make corrections, or complete permit steps. A filing representative can enter information, but DOB says the filing representative cannot submit a work permit; only the permit applicant can submit it.
