Need Help With a DOB Violation, Summons, Permit, or Stop Work Order?
The NYC Department of Buildings will hold a free, in-person DOB in Your Community event in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Small property owners can speak one-on-one with DOB staff about eligible violations, OATH summonses, permits, Stop Work Orders, and other DOB-related questions.
This is not a seminar or presentation. It is an opportunity for small property owners and small business owners to speak directly with DOB staff about DOB-related concerns affecting their property or planned work.
Small property owners and small business owners can ask DOB staff about eligible DOB-related concerns, including open violations, OATH summonses, permit or job questions, Stop Work Orders, and Building Code compliance.
Same-day processing may be available for eligible concerns. What DOB can review or process depends on your case, your documents, and DOB staff review.
- Onsite review of Stop Work Orders and eligible requests to lift a Stop Work Order.
- Submission of inspection requests related to Full or Partial Vacate Orders.
- Filing and uploading a Certificate of Correction (COC) for review and possible same-day processing, when eligible.
- Fee-estimate calculations.
- Payment options for civil penalties, work-without-a-permit violations, and other DOB-related violations.
- One-on-one guidance from senior DOB staff on Building Code compliance matters.
