Contractor Licensing
In NYC any contractor working on a home or property and that is engaged in construction, repair, remodeling, or the addition to any land or building used as a residence must be licensed by New York City.
This can include construction, replacement, roofing and any building to the property itself or surrounding walls. It can include the replacement or improvement of basements, driveways, fences and garages. It is also not limited to landscaping, porches, patios, swimming pools and sidewalks, terraces and other home improvements to structures or that is upon land that is adjacent to a home or apartment building.
